Q: Why is it important to know if a weed is an annual or a perennial?

A. Knowing the life cycle of a weed type helps you make the right choices in managing and limiting its growth .Annual weeds generally are much easier to control than perennials weeds as they just live for one season and spread by seed. Perennial weeds are often more difficult to control as they produce seeds and also can spread by underground or aboveground stems. It is very important to stop the establishment of perennial weeds, once established they can be difficult to manage.

Q. when should I tackle the weeds?
A. As soon as you see them you should root them out before they take hold and start seeding. If you can do this then you will be saving yourself a lot of time in the long run.
